Delivery Team
A Delivery Team is a collaborative group of technical and subject matter experts who are responsible for the implementation, execution, and delivery of product deliverables. The team not only focuses on product delivery but are expected to establish and maintain departmental best practices. This dual responsibility requires careful balancing of both objectives — delivering high-quality product outcomes while also ensuring that the processes, methodologies, and workflows within the department are optimized. Within Process Script, Delivery Teams are the driving force of the implementation of Process Script. While Process Stewards maintain the process, and Directors and other Roles inform decisions within the process, the Delivery Team is the day-to-day implementation specialists of Process Script meetings and progress milestones.
Motivations
Commitment to Product Success: The primary motivation for a Delivery Team is ensuring the successful delivery of product outcomes. They are driven by the challenge of creating and delivering high-quality, functional products that meet or exceed customer and business expectations. This success is not just about completing tasks but delivering value that drives the product’s — and thereby the company’s — long-term success.
Adherence to Best Practices: Delivery Team members are experts within their technical specialty. This allows them to be a voice for standards and best practices for their specialty. Further, Delivery Team members are driven to lower cognitive overload of process management by following the discrete objectives of Process Script. This allows them to devote the bulk of their time to product development and delivery goals.
Collaboration and Team Success: Collaboration is at the heart of the Delivery Team's motivations. While individual expertise is important, the team thrives when working together to solve problems, innovate, and find the best solutions for the product and departmental challenges. The success of the team as a whole is a key motivator, and members take pride in collective achievements.
Traits
Highly Skilled and Knowledgeable: Members of the Delivery Team are experts in their respective fields, whether technical or domain-specific. They have a deep understanding of the product, its requirements, and the broader business context. Their expertise allows them to contribute to both product delivery and the development of departmental best practices.
Collaborative: While they bring specialized knowledge to the table, Delivery Team members excel in collaboration. They work well with others across departments, sharing information, insights, and solutions to ensure the product and departmental objectives are met. They must embody teamwork, communication, and mutual support in achieving success.
Solution Finders: The Delivery Team is composed of individuals who are adept at identifying and solving complex problems. Whether it’s a technical challenge related to product delivery or taking on the challenge of process optimization via Process Scripts iterative improvement strategies, they thrive on finding solutions that create progress and improve the Delivery Team’s overall performance.
Accountable: Accountability is a core trait of a Delivery Team member. They take ownership of their tasks and responsibilities, whether it’s delivering product features or refining internal processes. Team members hold themselves and each other accountable to ensure objectives are met and standards are upheld.
Resilient: In the face of the product delivery and best practices, the Delivery Team demonstrates resilience. They are able to handle setbacks, adapt to changes, and maintain focus on long-term goals despite immediate obstacles. Through accountability and resilience, they maintain high performance, measurable by departmental Process Script metrics.
Behaviors
Implementing and Delivering Product Initiatives: The Delivery Team is responsible for ensuring that product initiatives are successfully executed. This involves leading Process Script methodologies for planning, development, and implementation of product increments. They monitor progress closely, quickly address any issues as they arise, and ensure the product is delivered on time and within scope.
Support and Cooperation: The team works cooperatively to support one another. This behavior is especially important when balancing dual objectives of product delivery and departmental objectives. In the face of progress blockers, team members are willing to pitch in to unblock one another, maintaining integrity to the shared responsiblity of product delivery and performance.
Conflict Resolution: In a multi-functional team, conflicts can arise between product delivery objectives and the adoption of new best practices. The Delivery Team handles these conflicts with diplomacy, ensuring that differences are resolved in a constructive manner, so both individuals are respected and process improvement goals are achieved.

Delivery Team - Classic Environment
The delivery team, consisting of Reilly, Deb, and Lazer, gathered at the start of their cadence to commit to their cadence goal. They reviewed their prioritized list of tasks and features, ensuring that the workload was evenly distributed among them. Reilly took on the more complex coding tasks, Deb tackled the supportive development work, and Lazer focused on creating engaging visual designs. Together, they agreed on the objectives for the cadence and set clear expectations for their daily progress.
As the days went by, the team diligently worked towards their goal, moving tasks from "in-progress" to "completed" on their project management board. Reilly and Deb collaborated closely, with Reilly providing guidance and Deb contributing valuable coding work. Lazer consistently delivered high-quality designs, which were integrated seamlessly into the project. The team maintained effective communication and kept each other informed of their progress during Stand-Up, ensuring that they stayed on track to meet their cadence goal.
During the retrospective ceremony at the end of the cadence, Deb took a moment to highlight Lazer's impressive visual designs. She praised Lazer's work for its creativity and effectiveness, noting how it had positively impacted the overall project. The team appreciated the acknowledgment, and the feedback fostered a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie as they reflected on their achievements and discussed improvements for the next cadence.
Delivery Team - Remote Workplace
The delivery team, consisting of Reilly, Deb, and Lazer, kicked off their remote cadence by committing to the goal during virtual Planning. They reviewed their task list and distributed the work to ensure a balanced workload: Reilly focused on complex coding tasks, Deb handled supportive development, and Lazer worked on visual designs. Each day, the team updated their project management board, moving tasks from "in-progress" to "completed" as they made steady progress. Lazer’s designs consistently impressed, and during the retrospective ceremony held via video call, Deb took the opportunity to commend Lazer’s creative contributions, highlighting how the visuals had enhanced the project. This acknowledgment strengthened team morale and set a positive tone for their continuous improvement.
